The playoffs are here Texans fans!

The moment all of us football fans have been waiting for is here!  It’s playoff time in Houston.  This Saturday the Houston Texans get another shot at the Oakland Raiders from their previous match-up on November 21st of this year.  Everyone remembers the heart break, prime time Monday night game in Mexico City.  That night can be all but a memory with a victory this Saturday when it counts the most.  The Houston Texans coming off a very poor performance against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville last week, have a chance to show they have what it takes to make a deep run this year.

If you go back and look at most of the statistics for the game, you would assume that the Texans came home with a win, however there were two key areas that had the Texans coming back to Houston without a win.   The Texans had more total yards (354 to 325), a better third down efficiency (50% to 27%), and even dominated the time of possession (36:27 to 23:33).  The defense even held the Raiders to a total of 30 yards rushing, but just ran out of steam against the Derek Carr lead passing attack in the 4th quarter.  The glaring statistic that the Texans have to clean up in this next meeting this Saturday is penalties and turnovers.  The Texans had 7 penalties for a total of 101 yards, and had 2 turnovers in key spots to shift the momentum of the game.

Yes we all remember the Deandre Hopkins touchdown that was called back for stepping out of bounds, the classless laser pointing incidents, and the lack luster performance by the referees.  There is always going to be calls that can go south in every game but this loss is on the Texans.  They need to get off to a fast start, which they have had a hard time doing all year long.  The offense is going to have to pick up the slack this time.  The key to winning for this team in the playoffs is to get out in front early and allow this top notch defense to cause havoc as they have all year.  So lets go out and get this win this weekend in our backyard, and show up loud and proud for our Houston Texans!
