Halloween Time

First off, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This is such an exciting time, for kids and adults. I think adults enjoy this holiday just as much as the kids. Who doesn’t like dressing up and getting the adrenaline pumping from getting scared a bit. Each house you go to is decorated a little or a lot different than the last, there are a big variety of costumes and how they are made, and getting candy we all secretly indulge while everyone else is sleeping. Although we don’t want to indulge that candy that we dread getting because no one really likes it. That is why I am revealing to you, the verdict of the not cool candy survey.

Not cool candies:

Parade says these candies are the worst to give out this year. Some of these candies are just crazy to be on this list, but I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes. Smarties? Candy Corns? Tootsie Rolls? Love all 3 of these and can’t believe they made this list.

A few Tips

Going out on the streets at night, knocking on stranger’s doors, and asking for candy. Crazy to think we entice this and made it a tradition on a holiday, but we have always taught our kids to not do these things. Halloween is an exciting holiday where there is so much fun to be had by everyone, but it can also be very dangerous at the same time. So many get caught up in the excitement that they forget to pay attention to what is going on around them, that is why people get hurt. Make sure you have a cell phone on you and charged, if your kid has a phone then make sure they have theirs on them as well. Make sure your kid also has a flashlight or glow stick on them while trick-or-treating. If a porch light is not on, don’t go to that house. Halloween night is when you are 2 times more likely to get hit by a car, so make sure you and your kids are watching. Do not let your kids eat any of their candy until you have checked it over to make sure it has not been tampered with in any way. Last tip and a big one, a teal colored pumpkin at a house means they have non edible treats for kids with food allergies.
